FAQ

What if I spell it wrong?

We knit exactly what you type. We don't correct spelling, because we can't tell an unusual name from a typo. Check it at checkout — there's a confirmation box for exactly this reason. If you spot a mistake, email us straight away: if it hasn't entered production we'll change it free.

How many letters fit?

Ten. Longer names get shortened to what she's actually called, which is usually what she'd want anyway.

Will the name come off?

No. It's wool, chain-stitched through the corduroy and knotted on the reverse. There's no edge to lift because nothing was stuck on. Printed and iron-on names crack and peel; this is a different thing entirely.

Can I wash it?

Spot clean with a damp cloth. Don't machine wash and don't tumble dry — corduroy and hand-stitched wool don't enjoy either.

Small or Medium?

Small suits roughly 2–4 years. Medium suits 4–8 and takes an A4 folder flat, plus a lunch box and a bottle. If she's starting school, get Medium.

How long does it take?

2–4 working days to knit, 5–8 in the post. So 7–12 working days total. The product page shows live dates for today's order.

What's a charm?

A small hand-crocheted bear or flower stitched onto the front pocket. $4, entirely optional, and it doesn't add to the making time.

What arrives in the box?

The bag with her name knitted in, a kraft gift box, and a care card. Nothing else — no plastic, no filler.

Can I return it?

If anything's wrong with it, yes, always — we replace or refund, no time limit. If you simply changed your mind, no: a bag with a child's name on it can't be sold to anyone else. Full detail on the refund policy page.

Do you ship to me?

Most likely. US, Canada, UK, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, UAE and most of the EU. $4.95 flat, free on two or more.

Is it actually made by hand?

Yes. One person, about forty minutes per bag, one at a time. That's why it takes days rather than hours and why it costs more than a printed one.
